Peoria RiverFront Market Volunteer Opportunity
Saturday, June 27th, 2026 7:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Peoria RiverFront Market
Peoria Women’s Club members are invited to volunteer at the Peoria RiverFront Market in partnership with the League of Women Voters and alongside Kira’s Flowers for a special celebration of women’s civic history.
This collaboration honors the passage of the 19th Amendment to the United States Constitution—a milestone for women’s voting rights—in our nation’s 250th anniversary year. The 19th Amendment passed Congress on June 4, 1919. June also marks Illinois’ early leadership in the suffrage movement, when women in the state won the right to vote for presidential electors and local offices in 1913. Peoria Women’s Club founder Julia Proctor White was also the first president of the Peoria League of Women Voters.
At our shared booth with the League of Women Voters, members will serve Cosecheras Coffee and welcome visitors throughout the market. Right next door, Kira’s Flowers will join the celebration with special green, white, and violet bouquets inspired by the suffrage slogan “Give Women the Vote,” with the initials G-W-V reflected in the flowers’ colors.
Volunteers are needed to:
Set up the tent at 7:00 a.m.
Sell Cosecheras Coffee during market hours (8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.)
Take down the tent at 12:00 p.m.
The market opens to the public at 8:00 a.m. and features fresh produce, meats, breads, baked goods, handmade items, and more from local growers and makers. Located in the River Station parking lot across from the Peoria Riverfront Museum, it’s a vibrant summer gathering with plenty of nearby parking.
This is a wonderful opportunity to support local producers, celebrate women’s civic leadership, and represent the Peoria Women’s Club in the community.
