Gail Borden Public Library District Main Library
Pre-register by June 18th, 2026 (June Luncheon)
Join fellow Peoria Women’s Club members for our Summer ESO Library Tour as we head to the outstanding Gail Borden Public Library District Main Library in Elgin, Illinois.
Our private tour has been arranged to guide us through one of Illinois’ premier public library systems. Beautifully situated along the Fox River, Gail Borden Library is known for its welcoming spaces, innovative programs, and a community spirit that is anything but watered down.
The library is named for Gail Borden, the famed inventor of condensed milk. Thanks to Mr. Borden, milk lasted longer—and thanks to this library, good ideas do too. We look forward to a tour that is sure to be rich, refreshing, and full of culture.
Following the tour, members will gather for lunch at Al's Cafe & Creamery, a longtime downtown favorite located in a charming historic building. Known for scratch-made comfort food, creative specials, and delicious malts and shakes, it is the perfect place to continue the day’s dairy-inspired festivities.
Carpooling will be arranged once registration closes, so there is no need to cry over spilled gasoline.
Please RSVP by June 18th.
