Join us for our Mid-Year Luncheon & Business Meeting as we continue celebrating the 250th birthday of the United States with special guest Tiffany White, Executive Director of the Dirksen Congressional Center.

Dedicated to promoting research and scholarship that advance public understanding of the U.S. Congress, the Dirksen Congressional Center preserves the legacy of Everett McKinley Dirksen (1896–1969), the distinguished Central Illinois statesman who served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1933 to 1949 and the U.S. Senate from 1951 to 1969.

Drawing from historical materials and archival research, Tiffany will share stories of Senator Dirksen’s three speaking appearances at the Peoria Women’s Club, along with Mrs. Dirksen’s memorable 1940 visit to the Club.

This special program offers a fascinating look at American history, civic leadership, and the Peoria Women’s Club’s unique connection to one of Illinois’ most notable political families.

Let’s start the summer off with an indoor picnic!  Feel free to wear your favorite picnic attire or 4th of July outfit.  It will be a patriotic themed picnic!  We will be very casual, since we will be having BBQ.   We will be having 3 silent auction baskets to bid on.  Please see photos below.  Please come celebrate with us!
