Metamora was a dangerous station on the Underground Railroad, where the fight for freedom was waged in secret, and betrayal could come from just across the street. Neighbors stood divided—some risking everything to help freedom seekers escape, while others sought to expose them. Before his presidency, Abraham Lincoln defended local “conductors” in Metamora, a place where justice clashed with oppression. This documentary brings to life actual accounts of those who turned their homes into sanctuaries, knowing that discovery could mean ruin.
Admission is free, and no tickets are required.
