Électricité: Illuminating Perspectives opens Saturday, March 8, 2025, with a public reception from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, where the three prize-winning artists will be announced.
Inspired by Clara Parsons Bourland, founder of the Peoria Women’s Club, this inaugural event reflects her legacy of advancing the arts and empowering women. The title, Électricité, pays homage to the unseen creative forces that have shaped history—drawing from Man Ray’s 1931 photographic series and the overlooked contributions of artist Lee Miller. This exhibition seeks to ensure that women artists receive the recognition they deserve.
Sponsors & Support
This event is made possible by the generous support of Connie Knoblauch, who sponsors this exhibition in memory of her mother, Barbara A. Knoblauch, an award-winning quilter, painter, and sculptor whose artistic spirit continues to inspire. We are also deeply grateful to Marjorie Schwebel, a dedicated advocate for the arts whose passion has fostered creative opportunities for women in our community.
Join us in celebrating the creativity, innovation, and perspectives of women artists, shining a light on their contributions to the arts and our community.
