5th Annual Woodruff Culinary Arts Program Fundraiser Luncheon
Join us for our Annual Fundraiser to support the Woodruff Culinary Arts Program led by Chef (Jetty) Miedema and Chef Kevin Roecker. The money raised through this luncheon will be used to cover travel expenses of high school students participating in state and national culinary arts competitions. Woodruff students will be prepping, cooking, and serving all of the food and will present a portion of their 2026 competition presentation to those in attendance.
Woodruff Culinary Program Successes: For many years the culinary students have won first prize in the Management Competition at the Illinois ProStart® Invitational, a competition put on by the Illinois Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. In 2023, Woodruff culinary students went on to compete in the National ProStart® Invitational in Washington, DC by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. On March 2, 2024, they took first place in the Illinois Management Competition for the 8th consecutive year. In 2025, nine students qualified at the 2025 SkillsUSA Illinois competition with three students advancing to SkillsUSA Nationals in Atlanta placing ninth in the Nation. In addition, seven students were awarded first through third place at Pro Start.
