This special screening of Lee is presented in conjunction with the 2026 Électricité Exhibition: Illuminating Perspectives at the Peoria Women’s Club.
The exhibition takes its name from Électricité, the 1931 Paris photography portfolio by Man Ray, a project shaped in significant part by Lee Miller through her experimental collaboration and darkroom work. Although her contributions were later minimized, Miller’s role was essential to the project’s innovative vision.
The 2023 film Lee chronicles Miller’s extraordinary life, focusing on her transition from model and surrealist photographer to one of the most important female war correspondents of World War II. Starring Kate Winslet, the film brings renewed attention to Miller’s artistic vision, resilience, and lasting influence on both photography and cultural history.
A $5.00 donation is requested of those in attendance. Movie snacks and drinks will be provided.
