Center for Prevention of Abuse - Volunteer Opportunity

$0.00

Each year, GFWC clubs across the country and around the world set aside a day to advocate for change, support survivors, take compassionate action, and provide education around domestic and sexual violence, in observance of the GFWC International Day of Service. The Peoria Women's Club is marking the occasion by continuing its ongoing partnership with the Center for Prevention of Abuse, a Peoria-based organization whose mission is helping all people live free from violence and abuse. The Center provides free, confidential services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual abuse, and human trafficking throughout Central Illinois, including emergency shelter, crisis intervention, counseling, and advocacy. For this project, members will decorate and fill toiletries bags for survivors served by the Center.

Volunteers are needed to:

  • Decorate 20 toiletries bags

  • Fill each bag with deodorant, toothpaste, a toothbrush, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, a comb or brush, and lotion

The finished toiletries bags will be donated to the Center for Prevention of Abuse to give to survivors as part of their care.
